Honouring extraordinary volunteers in the brain tumour community
Each year, we recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and passion to making a difference in the lives of those affected by brain tumours. Our Volunteer Awards honour individuals and teams who go above and beyond, demonstrating exceptional leadership, advocacy, and commitment.
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the brain tumour community. Support group facilitators and convenors provide a safe space for patients and caregivers. BrainWAVE volunteers bring joy to children and families. Brain Tumour Walk organizing committee members dedicate their time to planning and executing fun and meaningful events.
Additionally, many volunteers contribute through advocacy, awareness, or even fundraising, ensuring that individuals affected by brain tumours receive the resources and support they need. Each volunteer makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those they support.
This year, our awards are separated into four distinct categories:
- Our Volunteer of Distinction Awards: These awards honour those who go above and beyond in their volunteer efforts, demonstrating exceptional leadership, commitment, and advocacy for those affected by brain tumours. Our Volunteer of Distinction Awards are broken down into the following four categories this year—Trailblazer Award, Advocacy Award, Team Award, and Legacy of Service Award—each recognizing unique and meaningful contributions. *Please note that Volunteers of Distinction Awards nominees must be current or past registered volunteers with Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
- Our David Kelly Community Impact Award: This award pays tribute to an individual or team who has made outstanding volunteer contributions to their community.
- Our Health-Care Professional Award: This award recognizes an outstanding medical professional who has shown exceptional dedication, compassion, and commitment to improving the lives of individuals affected by brain a tumour.
- Our Emerging Leader Award: This award recognizes a passionate and dedicated individual who is making a significant impact on the brain tumour community through leadership, innovation, and service.
