The Role:
As the Manager of Finance & Operations, reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a strategic leader responsible not only for overseeing the organization’s financial operations, but also for identifying and implementing opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability. This position demands a proactive mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and a collaborative spirit. You will contribute to strategic planning, support key operational initiatives, and ensure financial practices align with the organization’s values and objectives. Your work will help strengthen our capacity to serve the brain tumour community across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
You will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly donation batches to financial records with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Lead accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment processing, and bank deposits, ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations.
- Serve as an administrator for Financial Edge, overseeing integrations with the CRM and implementing best practices for internal controls and data management.
- Partner with the Development and Programs teams to ensure precise tracking and reporting of restricted funds, aligned with donor intent and strategic priorities.
- Prepare and analyze monthly bank reconciliations and financial reports to inform executive and board-level decision-making.
- Provide insightful financial and operational analysis to guide performance optimization and goal achievement.
- Collaborate with external partners such as auditors, legal counsel, financial advisors, and vendors to maintain transparency and compliance.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial documents and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including audit packages.
- Monitor financial performance, ensuring adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and regulations, and make proactive recommendations to adjust course as needed.
- Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to maintain and evolve financial policies and procedures that support strategic and operational excellence.
- Support the development, monitoring, and management of the annual budget in collaboration with the CEO, Finance Committee, and Board.
- Contribute to the organization’s strategic planning and operational decision-making processes.
- Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and community-centered engagement within the organization.
- Help maintain and improve IT systems, financial databases, and internal workflows to support a data-informed culture.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and ethical standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies to protect the organization’s assets and operations.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of financial transactions, operational activities, and compliance documentation.
Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually.

Digital Marketing & Content Creator

Position Summary:
We are looking for a creative, digitally fluent, and design-focused individual to elevate our mission through compelling visual storytelling and targeted social media engagement. As the Digital Marketing & Content Creator, you will be responsible for developing and automating engaging content that raises awareness, grows our digital community, and supports national campaigns.
Your Responsibilities:
You will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
- Design and produce engaging visual content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X) using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Develop and maintain an automated social media calendar, optimizing posting times and frequency for engagement.
- Create branded graphics, reels, infographics, and short-form videos that align with BTFC’s visual identity and messaging.
- Collaborate with internal teams to repurpose existing stories, blog content, and community updates into compelling social media posts.
- Support the execution of national campaigns such as Brain Tumour Awareness Month and Spring Walk events through digital outreach and visual content.
- Assist in growing and engaging BTFC’s online community by increasing reach, shares, and interactions across platforms.
- Monitor social media channels and support timely responses to comments and messages in coordination with the communications team.
- Track social media analytics and report on campaign performance and audience growth.
